(NASDAQ: SPLK), the leading provider of software for real-time operational intelligence, today announced the appointment of Markus Zirn as vice president of product and solutions management. With more than 15 years of experience, Zirn will be responsible for spearheading the development priorities, overall product roadmap and pricing of Splunk software. Zirn will report to Guido Schroeder, senior vice president of products.

Prior to Splunk, Zirn spent nine years at Oracle as vice president of product management, where he was responsible for a portfolio of products, including service-oriented architecture, SOA governance, business process management, process solutions, ERP user productivity, and event processing. During his time at Oracle, Zirn provided the requirements for the work of hundreds of engineers and enabled the sales efforts of a large, worldwide sales team. Zirn began his career as a management consultant at Booz Allen Hamilton serving high tech, media and telecom customers, first in Dusseldorf, Germany and later in San Francisco.
