Speed Limit Restrictions Lifted on PA Turnpike at 3 a.m.
HARRISBURG, Pa., Feb. 27 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- As of 3 a.m. Saturday, speed restrictions on the Pennsylvania Turnpike from the Ohio border east to Breezewood, Exit 161, were lifted by the Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency, PennDOT, the Turnpike Commission and the state police.
There are no remaining speed restrictions on any of Pennsylvania's interstates.
PennDOT and the Turnpike Commission will continue to treat roadways until the roads are clear, however their primary goal is to keep roads passable, but not completely free of ice and snow. Care is still advised.
PEMA also reminds citizens that downloadable materials, including home and car emergency kit checklists and emergency plan templates, are available at www.ReadyPA.org or by calling 1-888-9-READYPA.
Because weather and road conditions can deteriorate quickly, motorists should always check the weather forecast before traveling. Road conditions for interstates and some limited-access highways are available by visiting www.511pa.com before you leave home, or by calling 511 while stopped in a safe location.
