Spectros Corporation 2014 Oximeter Sales Revenue Up 42%
PORTOLA VALLEY, Calif., Feb. 4, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Spectros Corporation announced today that 2014 sales revenue rose 42% over 2013 (year-over-year). This continues double-digit revenue growth for Spectros.
"The market continues to embrace the Spectros® T-Stat® state-of-the-art broadband tissue oximetry," notes CFO John Bagnatori.
Spectros T-Stat tissue oximeters, and the new BodySigns® wearable fitness sensors, are the only broadband tissue monitors on the market in the U.S. and Europe. T-Stat® oximeters compete in the marketplace with INVOS® oximeters marketed by Covidien and tissue oximeters marketed by ViOptix.
New this year, Spectros BodySigns wearable sensor measures heart rate, respiratory rate, hydration, and even calories from a small, non-contact sensor, allowing loose fit wearables. The sensor is suitable for incorporation into a wide array of low-power fitness and wearable consumer electronics products.
"Our BodySigns® sensor will be a game changer, allowing for wearables monitoring without tight watchbands or restrictive bracelets. This will bring new levels of accuracy to wearable devices."
About Spectros
Spectros markets and licenses advanced molecular sensing devices. The company's champion product, the T-Stat VLS Tissue Oximeter, was the first medical device FDA-approved as sensitive to ischemia, an insufficient supply of oxygen to tissue, and remains the only commercially-available tissue oximeter utilizing state-of-the-art multispectral technology. The non-invasive T-Stat VLS system is used clinically to provide a continuous and real-time absolute value, utilizing 260 wavelengths, over the competing NIRS oximeter product lines that only use 2-4 wavelengths.
Spectros is a venture-supported private concern and markets its products in the U.S. and internationally.
(Note: T-Stat and BodySigns are trademarks of the Spectros Corporation. INVOS is a trademark of Somanetics and Covidien).
