Special Press Club Preview of New Documentary Series, Wed. Evening, Nov. 9 -- SOUNDBREAKING: STORIES FROM THE CUTTING EDGE OF RECORDED MUSIC Screening and Newsmaker Panel Discussion Explores How Technology has Changed Music

WASHINGTON, Oct. 31, 2016 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The National Press Club will screen two parts of Soundbreaking: Stores from the Cutting Edge of Recorded Music, on Wed., Nov. 9 at 7 p.m. in the club's ballroom. The series explores the impact of recorded music on the modern world. The 8-part documentary will be broadcast on PBS in November. Following the screening will be a panel discussion featuring:

• Joshua Bennett, filmmaker, Show of Force
• Hank Shocklee, music producer, Public Enemy
• Sam Brylawski, former chair, Library of Congress National Recording Preservation Board

Soundbreaking is the last project of legendary music producer Sir George Martin, who passed away on March 8, developed in association with Washington, DC-based Higher Ground. The series combines exclusive interviews with over 150 celebrated artists, producers and innovators from across the music spectrum, with rare archival studio footage and an extensive soundtrack. Soundbreaking is produced and directed by Emmy and Peabody Award®-winning filmmakers Show of Force.
