Special Counsel Embraces The Cloud With RelativityOne Investment
JACKSONVILLE, Fla., Nov. 27, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Special Counsel, a leading full-service provider of legal staffing and e-discovery solutions, today announced the further expansion of its partnership with Relativity and usage of cloud-based platform, RelativityOne, which enables Special Counsel to leverage Relativity's flexible and secure Software as a Service (SaaS) product as the foundation for their clients' e-discovery and other services.
Following last year's partnership announcement between Special Counsel's managed services business, D4, and Relativity, Special Counsel has made an additional investment to bring the rest of its legal offerings into the fold. With this broader partnership, all of Special Counsel will be able to leverage RelativityOne, including its executive placement arm, Parker + Lynch Legal.
"We started our business in 1987 as a legal staffing and recruiting company, never intending to be a technology company," said Laurie Chamberlin, president of Special Counsel. "Our business continues to evolve, and with the acquisition of D4 in 2016, we began a significant transformation. Since then, we've doubled our data, doubled our users, and we have more velocity, projects and workspaces than ever before. RelativityOne helps us stay ahead of the curve and dovetails with our greater strategic initiative to provide expert consultation and support to our clients using best-of-breed solutions."
Whether it's litigation, information governance, a government request or an internal investigation, RelativityOne provides legal teams with a complete set of flexible tools in a secure cloud platform to tackle their unique challenges through every phase of a project. RelativityOne is available in the US, UK, Hong Kong, Canada, Brazil and the Netherlands, with more availability coming soon.
"It is great to see D4's parent company, Special Counsel, taking advantage of the infinite scalability and ironclad security that RelativityOne offers. By making an additional investment in our comprehensive SaaS e-discovery platform, Special Counsel demonstrates a commitment to providing the best solutions possible for their clients around the world," said George Orr, vice president of customer success and support at Relativity. "We are looking forward to partnering with them in this new capacity."
"We're reinventing our business for a successful future and we're only just beginning," Chamberlin added.
