Spark Design & Architecture Awards Get Great
Entries From Around The World Arriving Daily-Deadlines Extended To Accommodate New Work
NEW YORK, Oct. 25, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- "The Spark Awards have gained some weighty brands in the last few weeks," said Spark President, Peter Kuchnicki. "BMW, Rolls Royce, MINI, a Mooney airplane, Philips Lighting, Google VR, Dell, and architects from Austin, Texas to Xintangwanke, China have added many exciting designs to this year's event."
Deadlines Extended
To the relief of many time-pressed marketing staffs, Spark has extended entry deadlines. For professional entries, designers and firms have until November 10. For student work, classes and individuals have until November 25.
Nine juries will convene in San Francisco, November 15 and 16. Three more, including student work, take place in Hong Kong, November 29.
In addition to the most typical design categories, such as architecture and product design, Spark has added MAKR Design for makers, PROTO Design for designers testing their ideas on the market and WEAR, for advanced textiles, wearables and technical clothing.
"Spark enjoys exploring cutting-edge design," said Kuchnicki. "We need to continually press ahead, learn and help others learn and understand the capabilities of these new forms."
After winners are selected, they will be exhibited internationally—first in Hong Kong at the InnoDesignTech Expo and Business of Design Week, December 1-3. These events are co-sponsored this year by the American city of Chicago. They will be open to the Trade and to the General Public.
