SAN FRANCISCO, Feb. 12, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Spark has named Tim Turpin as its first-ever General Manager of its San Francisco headquarters, in response to the significant and steady growth the company has been experiencing. In his new role, Turpin will oversee and support all practice groups based in the San Francisco office. In addition to serving as a senior professional coaching and mentoring resource, Turpin will be initiating, managing and executing new business development strategies and growth for the company, working in tandem with Spark's chief executive officer, Alan Soucy.

With 20 years of industry experience, Turpin has been a long-time Senior Managing Director at Spark, overseeing the company's burgeoning Venture Capital/Green Tech practice group. As Turpin transitions into his new role as GM, he will continue to oversee his accounts with some additional support from Kirsten Maynard, Michael Celiceo and Mary Magnani.

Prior to joining Spark, Turpin spent seven and a half years at OutCast Communications, where clients included venture capital firms Foundation Capital and Khosla Ventures, tech innovators Metaweb Technologies and Zaplet, and green tech companies including Purfresh and Range Fuels. Turpin began his career as news bureau director, writer and editor for the University of the Pacific, where he received his degree in communication with an emphasis in public relations.
