CHICAGO, May 16, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Today, the Flipped Learning Global Initiative (FLGI), a worldwide coalition of educators, researchers, technologists, professional development providers and education leaders, announced the Spanish Language Flipped Learning Level-I Certification program. The new training and certification program was developed to give Spanish-speaking educators around the world the basic knowledge required to successfully implement flipped learning.
The Spanish language version includes nine (9) units and covers these essential topics:
- Understanding the pedagogy of flipped learning
- Planning for flipped learning
- Flipped learning best practices
- Tech tools of the flipped classroom
- Effective use of class time
- Implementing flipped learning in different subjects and levels
- Assessments and flipped learning
- Selecting the right technologies
- Taking the flipped class to the next level
The new Spanish language Flipped Learning Certification program combines the latest research on flipped learning with the proven best practices from educators worldwide.
"There is a sizeable community of flipped learning practitioners whose primary language is Spanish. There is also a growing interest in flipped learning in Spanish speaking countries around the globe from Spain to Central and South America," said Jon Bergmann Flipped Learning pioneer and Chief Academic Officer at the Flipped Learning Global Initiative. "We are very excited to meet the unique needs of this important part of the Flipped Learning community."
As with the English version of the program, one of the most vital pieces of the training is the technology selection unit. The unit was created to give Spanish-speaking educators the specific tools needed to determine which technologies are well suited for flipped learning and those that are not.
The Spanish language Flipped Learning Level - I Certification is designed for three groups of educators:
- Educators who are new to flipped learning and need a roadmap to start flipping their classrooms
- Educators who are experienced with flipped learning and want to validate their knowledge and have their skills certified.
- Administrators who are considering implementing flipped learning and need to master the basics.
The beta version has been launched and is currently available to the public.
The Flipped Learning Global Initiative also announced the addition of Professor Raul Santiago to the FLGI Leadership team. Santiago will serve as the Global Liaison for Spanish Language Services.
"The Spanish language Flipped Learning Certification Level-I and the addition of a global liaison for Spanish language services are important steps toward supporting the adoption of flipped learning, worldwide," said Errol St.Clair Smith, Director of Global Development at the Flipped Learning Global Initiative. "We are excited to build on this program."
