Spangler Trolley Tour Shows Off New Facilities and Equipment

BRYAN, Ohio, June 21, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Visitors to the Spangler Store and Museum can visit the company's recently completed expansion on the Dum Dums Trolley tour. The trolley's new route goes directly through the company's 82^nd most complicated and most expensive addition which became operational earlier this year. The tour features up close views of new state of the art mechanical and robotic bagging, case packing and palletizing equipment.

While on the tour visitors learn about the candy-making process including; Dum Dums®, Saf-T-Pops®, Spangler® Circus Peanuts, and Spangler® Candy Canes. In the store and museum everyone can explore the history of the company and shop for candy, Dum Dums merchandise and apparel.

Visitors will be amazed by the amount of candy produced at the factory including 10 million Dum Dums per day, 1.5 million Candy Canes per day, and over 500,000 Saf-T-Pops per day!

The museum features historical information in a timeline fashion, along with samples of products and other artifacts from years past. A video history of the company runs continuously in the museum. The store offers Spangler's candy products including single flavored Dum Dums, bulk Dum Dums and Saf-T-Pops, as well as Candy Canes, Circus Peanuts and Spanglers Original Handcrafted Maple and Vanilla Peanut Clusters. Also available, are unique Dum Dums t-shirts, Dum Dums flip flops, and other cool Dum Dums accessories such as candles, chapsticks and coffee mugs. Visitors are welcome to taste test never-before-seen flavors from the lab!

Summer hours are Monday through Friday 10:00a.m. to 3:00p.m. (closed July 4^th) through August.
