DORADO BEACH, Puerto Rico, April 5, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Dorado Beach, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve today proudly unveiled an innovative new menu of authentically inspired treatments at the resort's award winning, Spa Botánico, honoring Puerto Rico's rich healing traditions utilizing genuine local botanicals. Menu highlights include an array of body scrubs, blended in the spa's very own kitchen, combining coconut oil, shea butter along with a variety of indigenous healing ingredients including coffee, bay leaves and lemongrass. These new and uniquely inspired treatment offerings take place entirely outdoors within a lush, private garden setting, reflective of the Reserve inspiration which encourages travelers to connect with the natural environment as part of their experience.
Botanico Al Fresco, the vision of renowned spa expert Tracy Lee, who played a key role in the overall design of Spa Botánico, offers treatments specifically tailored to both men and women. Women may enjoy scrubs such as Coffee & Clove, a revitalizing treatment using caffeine and the essential oils found in cloves to leave the skin feeling soft, refined and moisturized; or the Sweet Lime & Lemongrass scrub, an antioxidant rich treatment meant to restore and calm the nervous system through natural sedative properties of sour orange mixed with the lemongrass which uplifts mood and relieves pain in muscles and joints. This blend of fresh citrus and oils combined with raw sugar leaves the skin feeling supple, refined and moisturized.
For men, new treatment options include a Tobacco & Nutmeg scrub, a detoxifying blend which helps to draw impurities out of the skin, boost immunity and includes anti-aging properties. The new menu also includes a Spiced Bay & Coconut scrub imparting the remarkable healing properties of bay leaves, as well as coconut, to leave the skin feeling clean and healthy.
Set within a fragrant pineapple garden amidst lush natural landscape, the five-acre Caribbean-style spa sanctuary embraces its natural surroundings as an essential component of the experience. Upon arrival, guests are greeted by a very special apothecary portal filled with local botanicals, while the spa's famous Herb Garden serves as a beautiful backdrop through the glass windows of the Relaxation Room. The Herb Garden is an essential part of the resort, producing ingredients used in various spa treatments, welcome tea infusions and dishes at the property's exquisite restaurants, including Mi Casa by José Andrés. Spa Botánico is also home to an outdoor Purification Garden that features warm and cool plunge pools, beautifully tiled outdoor showers, and a free-standing steam room with rhythmic music, allowing guests to completely relax and immerse themselves in the natural moment.
