NEW YORK, May 10, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Standard & Poor's Equity Research Services is proud to note that ten of its equity analysts have been ranked as "Best on the Street" in The Wall Street Journal's annual survey of equity analysts for 2010, more than any firm in the survey. Airlines equity analyst Jim Corridore received the award for the sixth time. Analysts Joseph Agnese, Michael Jaffe, and Efraim Levy are three-time recipients of this prestigious recognition. In addition, S&P's Esther Kwon, Robert McMillan, and Angelo Zino are all second-time winners. The Wall Street Journal's complete Best on the Street report was published on May 10, 2011*.
Standard & Poor's equity analytical team has been ranked in the top ten of The Wall Street Journal's annual Best on the Street survey in six of the nine years that the firm has been participating in the survey since 2002.
"It is a great accomplishment for our equity research team to be ranked number one for stock selection, particularly during a period of high equity market volatility," said Stephen Biggar, Global Director of Equity Research for Standard & Poor's. "We strive every day to provide best-in-class equity research for our clients, using fundamental and valuation approaches that have been applied through many economic and market cycles. Having many equity analysts win this award multiple times is a further testament to their stock-picking abilities."
"Our cross asset class research, including our equity research recognized by The Wall Street Journal Best on the Street survey, is delivered to financial advisors through MarketScope Advisor and to institutional investors through Capital IQ," said Keith Ackerman, Managing Director of Standard & Poor's Research & Analytics.
