S&P Equity Research Picks AT&T Focus Stock of the Week
NEW YORK, Feb. 7, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- AT&T Inc. (T: $28) has been picked by Standard & Poor's Equity Research as its Focus Stock of the Week. T carries S&P's highest investment recommendation of 5-STARS, or Strong Buy.
"Despite increasing competition, we believe AT&T's fundamentals are strong," said Todd Rosenbluth, Telecommunications Equity Analyst at Standard & Poor's Equity Research. "We expect continued gains in consumer wireless, from subscriber additions and from continued data services usage, and wireline data service, from U-verse and enterprise IP services, to offset wireline voice pressure. We think the delayed recovery in enterprise segment revenues is more dependent upon an improved labor market than AT&T needing to fix its problems. Despite increased competition in wireless, we believe high brand loyalty, long-term company relationships and a focus on share repurchases are positives. In our opinion, AT&T's above-average dividend, recently raised, is secured by strong free cash flow."
