Sovereign Health's Kandis Hooper Receives the Patriot Award From the Department of Defense

SAN CLEMENTE, Calif., Dec. 6, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Sovereign Health, a leading national provider of behavioral health treatment services, is proud to announce that Kandis Hooper, lead house manager at Sovereign Health, was awarded the Department of Defense "Patriot Award" by Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR). Ms. Hooper was recognized for her contributions to national security and protecting liberty and freedom by supporting employee participation in America's National Guard and Reserve Force.

Located near Camp Pendleton, Sovereign Health of San Clemente hires and treats active and reserve military men and women, along with their spouses. California Marine Corps Pfc. Waseem Assi nominated Kandis Hooper for the Patriot Award. With the assistance of Sovereign's operations team, along with the human resources department, Miss Hooper was able to hold Mr. Assi's position as a house manager until he was able to return from his tour of duty.

The first in ESGR's series of awards is the Patriot Award. An employee serving in the National Guard or Reserve, or the spouse of a Guard or Reserve member, may nominate individual supervisors for support provided directly to the nominating service member and his or her family. The Patriot Award reflects the efforts made to support citizen warriors through a wide range of measures, including flexible schedules, time off prior to and after deployment, caring for families and granting leaves of absence if needed.
