Sovereign Bank Announces Valentine's Day Sweepstakes

BOSTON, Jan. 29  /PRNewswire/ -- Sovereign Bank today announced a new limited time only Valentine's Day Sweepstakes to promote its Sovereign Cash Rewards program.  The Valentine's Day Sweepstakes is the first in a series of four quarterly sweepstakes that will take place throughout 2010, culminating with the final Grand Prize drawing for a Caribbean cruise for two.  

From Jan. 28, 2010 through Feb. 14, 2010, Sovereign Bank Debit Card holders who register in the Sovereign Cash Rewards Program and/or make a purchase at any retailer will receive one entry into the Valentine's Day Sweepstakes.  In addition, cardholders will earn a double entry into the contest anytime they make a "signature purchase."  A signature purchase is defined as a purchase in which the cardholder does not have to enter a Personal Identification Number (PIN) at the point of purchase.  No purchase is required to participate in any sweepstakes Sovereign Bank sponsors.

Through the Sovereign Cash Rewards Program, customers can earn cash rewards up to 20 percent when they use their Sovereign Debit Card at participating retailers in-store or online through the Sovereign Cash Rewards web site.

Any Sovereign Debit Card customer who is automatically entered in any of the four sweepstakes will receive one automatic entry for the Grand Prize drawing. The sweepstakes is open to new and existing Sovereign Bank debit card holders, and the general public. The Grand Prize is a Caribbean cruise for two.  The Grand Prize drawing will take place on January 10, 2011.
