Southwire Releases Mobile App For Utility Product Catalog

CARROLLTON, Ga., March 11, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Electric utility customers can now get full access to the Southwire Utility Product Catalog on mobile devices with the release of the latest Southwire mobile app.

Southwire's Utility Wire Catalog App provides easy viewing of utility conductor and cable product information such as applications, specifications, construction and data for each product in the extensive line. This Southwire app is now available in the App Store for use on Apple products and features an easy-to-navigate diagram so the user can select products based on where they are used in the utility system. The mobile app allows users to browse the complete catalog, search for products based on use, and scan a product barcode in the field to access the technical specs on the conductor. The Southwire Utility Wire Catalog App also enables the user to compare products, save jobs for future reference, and export product information that can be easily transmitted and shared.

Southwire now has a suite of 16 mobile apps serving a variety of needs for the utility industry and electrical contractors. The popular free apps have been downloaded more than 175,000 times.
