Southwest Movers Association, Texas Association of Realtors partner for National Moving Month
Associations launch joint advertising campaign for Texans to "hire a professional"
AUSTIN, Texas, May 4, 2015 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- In honor of National Moving Month in May, Southwest Movers Association has partnered with the Texas Association of Realtors to encourage Texans to "hire a professional" when moving and buying or selling a home.
Scott Kesner, 2015 chairman of the Texas Association of Realtors, explained, "Every day, more than 1,600 people move to Texas and many more move inside its borders. Texas homebuyers and sellers need trusted partners on their side who can help navigate our state's competitive housing market and ensure a successful move. The Southwest Movers Association shares this commitment with the Texas Association of Realtors and a partnership with them is a natural fit."
Both the Texas Association of Realtors and Southwest Movers Association have advocated for the protection of Texas consumers for nearly 100 years. Southwest Movers Association's Pinnacle Movers certification program recognizes moving companies that are committed to maintaining the highest ethical standards and levels of customer service. Texas Realtors go beyond what's required of real estate agents by state law to uphold the respected Realtor Code of Ethics and ensure Texas remains a great place to own, buy, and sell real estate.
John D. Esparza, executive director of Southwest Movers Association, added, "Giving consumers the tools to make wise decisions on how they select a mover is essential to ensuring rogue and illegal operators do not take advantage of Texans. May is the start of the busiest moving season of the year and we are focused on holding illegal movers accountable. In 2014, Texas ranked six in the highest number of moving company complaints in the country, but that number is improving. We are excited the Texas Association of Realtors has joined us to spread the word about rogue operators during this busy selling season."
Starting this month, Southwest Movers Association and the Texas Association of Realtors will run a statewide advertising campaign encouraging homebuyers and sellers to "rely on a trusted professional" and directing Texans to TexasRealEstate.com/Move where Texans can find both a Texas Realtor and a Pinnacle Mover as well as learn how to have a safe, stress-free move. The advertisements can be seen online and heard on major radio stations throughout the state this summer.
Today, May 4, members of Southwest Movers Association, the Texas Association of Realtors, Texas Department of Motor Vehicles and Better Business Bureau will host a National Moving Month kickoff event at the Texas Capitol. The event will teach Texans how to protect themselves and their belongings when moving and select a moving company they can trust.
