"A strong source of protein at breakfast delivers the kind of energy students need to focus in the classroom all morning long," said Bonnie Modugno, MS, RD, consulting for Southern California McDonald's. "McDonald's line of Egg McMuffin sandwiches made with whole grain and served with apples and low fat milk provide students a great start that can be a catalyst for eating well throughout the day."
The Egg White Delight McMuffin is McDonald's newest way to enjoy the classic sandwich. It features freshly grilled 100% egg whites, extra lean Canadian bacon and white cheddar on a new muffin made with eight grams of whole grain, which is now served on all McMuffin sandwiches. The signature Egg McMuffin is made with a freshly cracked Grade A egg, extra lean Canadian bacon and a slice of American cheese.
"Southern California McDonald restaurants have a commitment to education and the well-being of children in the communities we serve," said Clay Paschen, McDonald's owner/operator and president of the McDonald's Operators' Association of Southern California (MOASC). "The back-to-school breakfast giveaway allows us to show that commitment. A hearty breakfast is just one way we can help equip students with the tools they need for a successful school year."
