South Florida Technology Alliance Adds Lonnie Maier of FPL FiberNet to Board of Directors
MIAMI and FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla., April 14 /PRNewswire/ -- Kevin Brady, president of the South Florida Technology Alliance (SFTA), today announced that Lonnie Maier, Manager of Enterprise Sales for FPL FiberNet, has joined the SFTA's board of directors.
In this role, Maier will help support SFTA's mission of promoting the growth and success of South Florida's technology community. Maier, known in local business circles as a leading tech expert, has a 28-year career in telecommunications encompassing numerous leadership positions in the network services and manufacturing arenas.
"Lonnie is very active in the South Florida technology space and an ardent supporter of building the region's brand as a technology hub, and we are confident her extensive experience and unique perspectives will bring additional depth and breadth to our board," said Brady, who is also president of Corporate Services, a software reseller and business process consulting organization.

Prior to joining FPL FiberNet, Maier was director of enterprise sales with Nortel. Before this, she was president of Maier & Associates, an independent telecommunications consulting firm, after a 17 year career as area vice president of large business sales with BellSouth Business Systems.
Maier's active involvement in the South Florida business community includes serving on the board of the Florida Atlantic University Research & Development Authority. Maier, a current member of Women in Technology, also was chairperson with the Broward Alliance, co chair of VisionBroward, and served on boards of InternetCoast and Workforce One. She received a master's in business administration (MBA) in 2005 from Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, FL and a bachelor's degree in 1980 from Florida State University in Tallahassee, FL.
