SourceMedia's Bruce Morris Inducted Into min's Sales Executive Hall of Fame
Recognizes Career Achievements of Exceptional Sales Leaders in Consumer and B2B Media
NEW YORK, June 21, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- (http://www.myprgenie.com) -- SourceMedia, a diversified business-to-business media company serving the financial services, technology and professional services communities, announced that Executive Vice President and Managing Director Bruce Morris has been inducted into min's Sales Executive Hall of Fame for B2B media.
In presenting the honor at an awards ceremony in New York City earlier this month, min called Morris the "$1 billion man," for having brought in more than $1 billion in sales during his career -- "an incredible accomplishment," according to the publication.
Published by Access Intelligence, min provides news and analysis of the consumer and B to B media businesses. Each year, the publication's editors recognize the best in digital and print publishing through a series of award programs, including Sales Executive of the Year. In addition, min inducts a select number of media executives into its Hall of Fame.
To be eligible for the Hall of Fame, an executive must have risen through the sales ranks to the level of president, vice president, director, publisher, or other leadership position, must have an excellent reputation for driving revenue and forging relationships, and must have earned the respect of his or her peers and of the advertising community.
Along with Morris, this year's inductees included Ted Bahr, President of BZ Media; Steve Cholas, Group Publisher of Hearst Business Media Electronics Group; Kris Flitcroft, VP of Construction at Cygnus Business Media; and Tom Rousseau, Senior VP at Ziff Davis Enterprise.
Morris, who oversees SourceMedia's Professional Services and Technology Groups, has been with the company in various senior sales and executive roles for more than 18 years. He started his career in advertising sales, but today manages a portfolio of assets that includes print and digital media, syndicated research, custom publishing and education and training products. The brands in his group include Health Data Management, Information Management, Employee Benefit News, Accounting Today and Financial Planning, the group's flagship. Last year, Financial Planning's revenue grew 24%, which included 30% growth in digital revenue.
Morris is "a consummate sales professional," according to SourceMedia Chief Executive Officer Doug Manoni, who added that Morris is respected by his clients and industry colleagues alike for his strategic marketing orientation and forward-thinking. Manoni said Morris exemplifies the consultative sales model and noted that Morris is an early adopter of integrated-digital media, most recently overseeing the deployment of tablet applications across his portfolio.
He's also developed one of the strongest sales teams in business-to-business publishing, Manoni said. "Bruce is a great sales coach," he said. "Among his personal accomplishments, he serves as a role model and mentor to many younger professionals in our company, and around the industry."
