Souplantation, Sweet Tomatoes to host 3rd campaign for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital® to fight childhood cancer, other life-threatening diseases
Grassroots campaign runs from January 15 to February 28 at 104 restaurants across U.S.
SAN DIEGO, Jan. 13, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- On Sunday, Jan. 15, 104 Souplantation and Sweet Tomatoes restaurants in 11 states are kicking off a third fundraising and awareness campaign for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital® to help children battling cancer and other life-threatening diseases.
The restaurants, owned by Garden Fresh Restaurant Corp., have raised more than $500,000 to date to support research and treatment at St. Jude, whose mission is: Finding cures. Saving children®. St. Jude Children's Research Hospital is where doctors often send their toughest cases because St. Jude has the world's best survival rates for some of the most aggressive forms of cancers. Thanks to generous donors, families never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing or food – because all a family should worry about is helping their child live.
Actor Patrick Warburton, the voice of the restaurant's "Discover Fresh" campaign, introduced the partners to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. He also hosts The Warburton Celebrity Golf Tournament in Palm Desert, California, which raised more than $1.5 million for St. Jude last year alone. In addition to golf, the event includes a jam session with Rock and Roll Hall of Famers, a songwriters' night, and a Saturday soiree.
"We hope our guests realize that we are not just collecting money for charity at the register. Rather, it is more meaningful than that," said Garden Fresh CEO John Morberg. "Thanks to generous donors, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital is saving young lives from all 50 states and around the world through its research and treatment, because all kids deserve the same chance at life."
The campaign ends Tuesday, Feb. 28. Visit souplantation.com to find a location or make a donation at stjude.org.
