WASHINGTON, March 1, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- SoundExchange today announced that Richard Conlon will join the company as Chief External Affairs Officer effective March 1. Conlon will be part of the senior executive team, helping to shape and execute on the company's vision. In this new role, Conlon will oversee the company's Corporate Communications, Industry Relations and Public Policy efforts. He will be responsible for managing SoundExchange's relationships with its wide array of constituents and stakeholders.
Conlon will report to SoundExchange President and Chief Executive Officer Michael Huppe.

For the past three years, Conlon has served as a senior advisor to CEOs and senior management at major music publishers, record labels, collective rights management organizations and financial institutions with a focus on corporate development in the digital intellectual property economy. Previously, he was a senior executive at Broadcast Music, Inc. (BMI) for more than 20 years, serving as Senior Vice President Corporate Strategy, Communications and New Media. He launched BMI's digital rights licensing division, managed corporate communications and oversaw the firm's global corporate strategy efforts. He also held executive positions at Viacom's pay-per-view television production and marketing unit and at The Learning Channel (TLC) cable network.
