TACOMA, Wash., Oct. 12, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Sound Physicians, a leading hospitalist organization focused on driving improvements in quality, satisfaction, and financial performance of inpatient healthcare delivery, today announced the appointment of a physician leader focused on improving the inpatient experience of care of communities served by the hospitalist organization nationwide.
Mark Rudolph, MD, SFHM has been appointed to Sound Physicians' leadership team as the Vice President of Patient Experience and Physician Development. In this role, he will have primary responsibility for leading Sound Physicians' efforts to enhance the inpatient experience at hospitals served by Sound Physicians. As a dedicated expert, Dr. Rudolph will partner with Sound Physicians' regional leadership teams and chief hospitalists at partner sites to evaluate the efficacy of current tools and programs focused on improving patient satisfaction and other acute care experience measures and implement new innovative processes to drive reproducible results.
Key focus areas of Dr. Rudolph's include directing inpatient experience pilot projects in conjunction with Sound Physicians' Lean-certified clinical operations team. Dr. Rudolph is leading development of strategies and tactics to drive measurable improvements in the patient experience at the hospitals Sound Physicians serves. He will join the team of Senior Vice President of Physician Development JD Fitz, MD, FACP, deepening Sound Physicians' investment in developing all physicians as leaders.
Dr. Rudolph's first role with Sound Physicians was as chief hospitalist at Highline Medical Center from 2002 to 2007. He later proposed and helped develop what would become the organization's web-based learning platform for physicians, the SoundInstitute. He served as director of Physician Training and Development. Most recently, Mark was chief medical officer in the Northwest from 2008 to 2012. He is a graduate of Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine and The New York Hospital - Cornell Medical Center Internal Medicine residency program. He joined Sound in 2002 after two years as Assistant Director of Graduate Medical Education in the Department of Internal Medicine at NYU Downtown Hospital.
