SAN DIEGO, July 14, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Sotera^® Wireless today announced that Dr. Rosemary Kennedy, the Company's Chief Nursing Officer and a recognized innovator in nursing informatics, will speak at this year's Summer Institute for Nursing Informatics (SINI) hosted by the University of Maryland. Dr. Kennedy's lecture "Mobile Continuous Monitoring Interoperability" will take place on July 23.  

"There is increasing interest in continuous monitoring options, such as our ViSi Mobile^® System, for hospitalized patients who are not perceived as being at specific risk and therefore are not traditionally monitored," said Kennedy. Dr. Kennedy has more than twenty-five years of expertise in the development and implementation of electronic health records with a focus on terminology, quality measurement, and clinical decision support. Previously she held many leadership roles through her work with Meaningful Use of Electronic Health Records at the National Quality Forum (NQF), the American Medical Informatics Association (AMIA) and Technology Informatics Guiding Educational Reform Board (TIGER).

This year marks the 25^th anniversary of SINI and the School's Nursing Informatics master's specialty, the first in the world when it was created in 1988, and now ranked number one in the nation. SINI focuses on the science of health care data capture, transmission and management, aimed at transforming clinical and administrative practice, and the relationships between health care professionals, patients, and their caregivers.
