Sotera® Wireless Appoints Rosemary Kennedy Chief Nursing Officer
SAN DIEGO, Oct. 1, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Sotera® Wireless today announced that Dr. Rosemary Kennedy, an internationally recognized informatics leader, has joined the Company in the newly created role of chief nursing officer. The appointment reinforces Sotera's commitment to providing practice leadership for nurses, a group that is highly engaged in the safety and care of hospital patients.

Most recently, Dr. Kennedy was president and chief executive officer of eCare Informatics and an adjunct faculty member at Thomas Jefferson University School of Nursing. Previously, she was vice president of health information of technology at the National Quality Forum. She holds many leadership roles through her work with the American Medical Informatics Association (AMIA) and Technology Informatics Guiding Educational Reform Board (TIGER).
Dr. Kennedy received her bachelor's degree in nursing and a master's in business administration from Widener University. She received a Ph.D. in nursing from Loyola University in Chicago. Dr. Kennedy is widely presented and published in the field of informatics, nursing, health information technology, and terminology standards. She is a fellow in the American Academy of Nursing and received the HIMSS 2009 Nursing Informatics Award as well as the top 25 women in healthcare award for 2009. She is currently on the TIGER board and sits on the safety council for the American Association of Medical Instrumentation.
