CULVER CITY, Calif., July 23, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Film lovers will be getting extra treats from Sony Movie Channel (SMC) in August, as the high-definition network presents such award-winning classics as FROM HERE TO ETERNITY, THE END OF THE AFFAIR and LOST HORIZON; along with notable French films, like THE CLASS and OF GODS AND MEN and blockbuster hits ranging from BEVERLY HILLS NINJA to HANOVER STREET. Plus, all-day movie marathons will fill the small screen when the Channel presents monster-themed films on Sunday, August 25, starting at 8:30 a.m. ET/5:30 a.m. PT, and THE THREE STOOGES movies on Saturday, August 31, beginning at 6:30 a.m. ET/3:30 a.m. PT.
As always, the Channel is presenting a diverse slate of films this month, but the highlight of the schedule is celebrating the 60th anniversary of the 1954 Oscar® Best Picture Winner FROM HERE TO ETERNITY. The 1953 film, starring Burt Lancaster, Montgomery Clift, Frank Sinatra and Deborah Kerr, is a timeless treasure that all audiences can enjoy again and again. The romantic war drama is airing on the network Sunday, August 4, at 8:00 p.m. ET/5:00 p.m. PT, a day before its actual premiere 60 years ago. Another Frank Sinatra starrer, PAL JOEY (1957), precedes it at 3:45 p.m. ET, as well as the World War II drama THE KEY (1958), with William Holden and Sophia Loren, at 5:45 p.m. ET. Following FROM HERE TO ETERNITY is THE END OF THE AFFAIR (1955), with Van Johnson and Deborah Kerr, at 10 p.m. ET.

LOST HORIZON TUESDAY – On August 13, the 1937 Oscar award-winning Frank Capra directed LOST HORIZON airs at 10 p.m. and immediately following is the 1973 musical remake and cult classic LOST HORIZON at 12:20 p.m. The 1973 version includes original music by Burt Bacharach. Both movies celebrate anniversaries – it's the 75th for the original and 40th for the remake.
JANE FONDA NIGHT – Catch Jane Fonda August 6 in CAT BALLOU (1996) at 10 p.m. and THE CHASE (1966) at 11:45 p.m.
