SAN MATEO, Calif., Jan. 25, 2017 /PRNewswire/-- Sonim Technologies, maker of the world's toughest mobile phones, has named two wireless industry leaders to expand the company's global footprint and strengthen its position in the public safety industry and other vertical markets including manufacturing, utilities and Oil & Gas.
As Chief Sales and Marketing Officer, Chuck Becher will be responsible for sales, marketing strategy and product positioning for Sonim. In this role, Becher will focus on delivering an integrated sales and marketing plan to support the growth of Sonim Technologies in enterprise public safety, and ultimately small and medium business segments in the wireless industry.

In addition, he will direct Sonim's Public Safety Advisory Board and Advisory Council to maintain an ongoing connection to industry experts by gathering insight and feedback.
"As a company, we are committed to providing life-reliable connectivity for our brave emergency responders and industrial personnel working in extreme environments. Over the last three years, we have worked diligently to demonstrate that these everyday heroes can use our devices either on the FirstNet spectrum or via AT&T, Sprint or Verizon to get the job done," said Bob Plaschke, CEO, Sonim Technologies. "Given their extensive experience and proven industry leadership, I look forward to Chuck and Anthony's contributions to continue to drive mobile innovation so our end users can be more efficient, productive and, above all, safe."
With 22 years of wireless industry experience, Becher was employed by Kyocera in various positions including Senior Vice President and General Manager of Sales and Marketing and Senior Director of Strategic Account Sales in the U.S. During his career at Kyocera, Becher led a shift in marketing focus by promoting rugged mobile products, which resulted in more than doubling revenue.
Becher holds a Bachelor of Business of Business Administration degree from the University of Michigan.
"I am extremely excited to join the Sonim team as we drive growth of rugged devices in public safety, utilities, transportation, Oil & Gas and manufacturing," said Becher.
