LAS VEGAS, Jan. 5, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- CES 2011 -- Sonic Solutions® (Nasdaq: SNIC) today announced that its RoxioNow™ entertainment platform and related technologies were selected by Intel® for Intel® Insider™ support. Shipping as part of the 2nd generation Intel® Core™ processor family, Intel® Insider™ enables consumers to access and enjoy for the first time premium 1080p high-definition digital movies on the PC from leading digital download services. Through the companies' alliance, owners of PCs equipped with a 2nd generation Intel® Core™ processor will be able to rent and purchase the latest Hollywood entertainment through RoxioNow-powered online storefronts and use the integrated RoxioNow Player to enjoy movies in up to 1080p stunning high definition.

Set to launch in early 2011, PCs featuring Intel Insider will provide consumers access to high-definition content from numerous storefronts powered by RoxioNow. Consumers can choose from a range of high-definition titles, including new, same-day releases digitally available as DVDs and Blu-ray Discs. Titles rented or purchased can be viewed on the PC using the RoxioNow Player and displayed on HDTVs via an HDMI connection or wirelessly from laptop systems featuring Intel® Wireless Display (WiDi).
