SolutionsIQ Offers Free 'Essential Practices for Agile Developers' Training Courses Across the U.S. and in India
Java and .NET courses help software developers become more fluent in Agile practices to advance their careers and deliver more value
REDMOND, Wash., July 17, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- SolutionsIQ, a global provider of Agile transformation and development services, today announced it is offering a free training program for software professionals who are interested in learning and improving Agile development methods. Essential Practices for Agile Developers — part of SolutionsIQ's comprehensive Agile solution — provides hands-on training in Extreme Programming (XP) within a Scrum project framework. The three-day course is offered to qualified candidates in Redmond, WA; San Jose, CA; Detroit, MI; Philadelphia, PA; Dallas, TX; and Bangalore, India, at public venues.
Software developers who would like to participate must have a strong interest in learning or improving their expertise in XP practices, as well as prior professional experience in Object-Oriented Programming in Java or .NET. They also must commit to attending three full days of training. Students are qualified via a questionnaire.
"Most IT organizations have embraced Agile methods to improve productivity and software output, increasing the need for qualified Agile developers. At the same time, many experienced developers who would like to learn Agile methods don't have the opportunity to do so," said Charlie Rudd, CEO, SolutionsIQ. "Our free instruction helps developers learn the engineering and collaboration practices used by the most experienced Agile teams to achieve breakout performance."
Essential Practices for Agile Developers is structured as a hands-on software development project, interleaved with lectures, demonstrations and group discussions. Participants learn Agile practices first-hand by using them as part of a Scrum team, and incrementally delivering a software product from an emergent backlog of features. Students gain experience in essential practices, including automated testing, test-driven development, refactoring and continuous integration. Offered in both Java and .NET, the course fulfills the three-day technical training requirement that is part of earning the Certified Scrum Developer (CSD) credential from the Scrum Alliance.
"As an active member of the Agile community, SolutionsIQ benefits when the broader community prospers," said Rudd. "We want to help those who have the desire, but not the means, to acquire or improve their Agile skills. We also hope that this program introduces us to developers who elect to join our team somewhere down the line."
