New technology adds a global dimension to collaboration within the PLC at Work™ process

BLOOMINGTON, Ind., March 26, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Educational technology company MasteryConnect has partnered with Solution Tree, a K-12 professional development and consulting company, to offer a new, cloud-based solution to help educators track mastery of standards, advance their PLCs, and share formative assessments aligned with the Common Core State Standards.

"The Common Core State Standards opened the door for uniformity, shared resources, and collaboration," says Trenton Goble, MasteryConnect cofounder and chief academic officer. Goble, who has over 20 years of experience in education, says he first heard of PLCs while working in Salt Lake City's Jordan School District, where the process had been adopted. Goble wondered how he could leverage technology to streamline the work of collaboration vital to the culture of a PLC.

The result is a cloud-based solution that allows teachers and administrators to connect with each other and share assessments, data reports, and more while tracking mastery of standards. Goble compares the networking features to Facebook, with the advantage of connecting singleton educators who may be working in isolation within their schools or districts.
