Solix, Inc. Wins Project of the Year Award from New Jersey Chapter of the Project Management Institute
Operational Support for National Connect2Compete Broadband Initiative Included Design, Implementation & Launch of Program
PARSIPPANY, N.J., April 10, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Solix, Inc., www.solixinc.com, a leading provider of eligibility determination, qualification program management and customer care services to government, telecommunications, broadband, utility and healthcare organizations; today announced the New Jersey Chapter of the Project Management Institute (PMINJ) www.pminj.org, has awarded its "Project of the Year Award" to the company for its work on the national Connect2Compete (C2C) broadband initiative.
PMINJ, which has a membership of more than 4,700, bestows its "Project of the Year Award "to New Jersey organizations that demonstrate exemplary project management planning and execution. PMI, the parent body, is one of the world's largest not-for-profit membership associations for the project management profession, with more than 650,000 members, certification and credential holders in more than 185 countries. As a global thought leader and knowledge resource, PMI advances the profession through its global standards and credentials, collaborative chapters and virtual communities and academic research.
C2C www.connect2compete.org is a nonprofit public-private partnership dedicated to making high-speed, low-cost broadband and computers accessible to low-income Americans. C2C's new "EveryoneOn" campaign is designed to help Americans access free digital literacy training in their communities. Solix has been providing program support services for C2C and will conduct similar work for the "EveryoneOn" campaign.
"Out of the many submissions, your project not only showed an in-depth knowledge of executing project management skills but it was quite clear (that) there was great collaboration among your leadership team," said Louis A. Vazquez, PMP, PMINJ Director, Project of the Year.
Solix was selected in February 2012 by C2C to design, implement, and launch the project that was scheduled to begin with a pilot program in San Diego less than three months later. Solix worked with C2C and its partners to design a program that would enable parents of school-aged children to apply to the program based on a variety of eligibility requirements. The program also required Solix to design systems and processes for participating partners to view the status of applicants. Program Integrity measures were developed to ensure system controls were in place for numerous areas of the program including application processing, call centers and the website.
"From (the) first meeting, it was clear that Solix brought to the table a comprehensive understanding of how to build an unknown program from idea to implementation using a proven disciplined project management approach," said Sonja Murray, Executive Vice President, Connect2Compete. Murray added, "Our partners and sponsors were closely monitoring our ability to succeed. Solix was our project and operational backbone to deliver what we had promised to our partners and the public."
Solix has extensive experience in serving broadband providers and offers a unique combination of program expertise, proprietary processes and technology to help organizations deploy efficient and compliant broadband access programs. Solix has been chosen to lead the design and implementation of several high-volume broadband access programs around the country that enable discounts for applicants who meet specific program requirements. Our eligibility determination services help customers manage programs with intricate rules-based criteria that are often subject to regulatory and eligibility guidelines as well as compliance reviews.
