The shoe charity is partnering with local agencies to provide aid to victims in communities affected by fires

NASHVILLE, Tenn., July 2, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Soles4Souls announced Monday they are joining several other agencies in Colorado to provide immediate relief through sturdy footwear and clothing to the evacuees and victims of the wildfires. Nearly 350 homes have been destroyed by the fires, while an additional 20,000 are threatened by the flames. Soles4Souls is reaching out to local agencies to identify the areas with the most need and transporting the necessities to them for distribution.

Individuals interested in supporting Soles4Souls' relief efforts are encouraged to visit www.giveshoes.org to financially sponsor pairs of new shoes to be sent. Individuals can also text the word SHOES to 20222 to donate $5.

"Wildfires are some of the most devastating and volatile natural disasters in the world," said Kevin Goughary, CEO of Soles4Souls. It is our hope that the aid we are sending is at least providing some sort of comfort to the families affected," she added.
