The shoe charity will provide shoes to victims in 12 communities devastated by the storms

NASHVILLE, Tenn., April 29, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Soles4Souls Inc., the international shoe charity, announced Friday morning that it already has two shipments of shoes en route to Alabama for victims of the devastating Tornadoes that ripped through much of the Southeast on Tuesday and Wednesday. Deemed one of the deadliest tornado outbreaks on record, the storms took hundreds of lives and destroyed thousands of homes and businesses in 6 states. The charity will be distributing shoes in Tuscaloosa and Birmingham today, along with other relief aid. Soles4Souls will also ship shoes to 10 other counties by early next week.

Individuals interested in supporting Soles4Souls' relief efforts are encouraged to visit www.giveshoes.org to find the nearest shoe drop-off location in their area or to financially sponsor pairs of new shoes to be sent. Individuals can also text the word SHOES to 20222 to donate $5.
