Leaders Take New Positions in Military Support Non-Profit
PASADENA, Calif., Nov. 23, 2010 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Soldiers' Angels, the largest military support organization of its type, announces three major changes in personnel. To fill a newly-created position, former Operations Manager Toby Nunn has been appointed Executive Director, where he will report directly to the Board of Trustees while maintaining responsibility for organizational leadership and direction, long-term planning and relationship-building. He will operate out of San Antonio as the face of Soldiers' Angels for donors, foundations, governmental agencies and the general public.
Nunn was genuinely surprised by the promotion and honored to have the Board's confidence. "I do understand the awesome responsibility of it. People thought I worked hard before, but they have no idea how hard I'm going to work now," he says. "Fortunately I have great a supporting team and I'm confident that together we will continue to do great things for our heroes and their families."
Replacing Nunn as Operations Manager is Ann Davidson, who began as a volunteer team leader in 2007 and later assisted Nunn before she was hired by the Pasadena office in late 2009. Davidson will be responsible for maintaining processes and records, managing volunteer leaders and supporting the work of the Executive Director. "I am thrilled to be taking on greater responsibility and honored to be following in Toby's footsteps," says Davidson. "It has been exciting to see the organization grow and change, and with the great people we have onboard I know we will continue to be a tremendous resource for our military and their families."
Previously a volunteer, veteran Lance Dowd fills the newly-created position of Program Manager. A former Marine Infantry Officer, Dowd is an experienced leader and administrator who recently retired after 24 years in the Corps, including two tours to Iraq. Dowd spent time as a defense contractor before joining Soldiers' Angels. He will coordinate and oversee all Soldiers' Angels program activities.
