LAS VEGAS, Oct. 25, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Solar Gard, a global leader in advanced film technologies for sun and paint protection across the automotive, commercial and residential industries, has announced it will showcase Zero to 60 Designs' fully customized and redesigned Tesla Model S to the world at the 2017 SEMA Show. In partnership with Solar Gard, the Zero to 60 Designs Zero TS, will feature the manufacturer's newest automotive product innovations – Clearshield® Pro Hydro, the next generation in paint protection film (PPF) and LX Series window film – keeping the vehicle protected from the elements, including heat, glare and damaging UV rays, as well as daily concerns like road debris and scratches. The Zero TS will be officially unveiled at the 2017 SEMA Show in Las Vegas on October 31-November 3, 2017, in the North Hall, Booth #12669.
In partnership with Solar Gard, the Zero TS' entire $40,000 exterior PPG paint scheme is invisibly shielded by Solar Gard's latest advancements in paint protection film technology, Clearshield Pro Hydro – Solar Gard's proprietary infused top coat protecting a vehicle from dings, scratches, road debris and everyday hazards like shopping carts and door edges. This next-generation PPF – which is currently being tested in select markets worldwide – builds on Solar Gard's already impressive Clearshield Pro product, which was featured on the Zero to 60 Designs GTT launched at last year's SEMA Show. Building upon the already incredible Clearshield Pro, Clearshield Pro Hydro adds the benefits of superior stain-resistance, self-healing properties, and super hydrophobicity allowing moisture to bead. Clearshield Pro Hydro is expected to be available in North America in early 2018.
In addition to protecting the paint on the customized vehicle, the Tesla will also feature Solar Gard's LX Series window film, the world's most heat rejecting film for automobiles in North America. Featuring all the benefits of a spectrally-selective film, the LX portfolio provides unsurpassed total solar heat rejection of 65%, increased interior comfort, up to 87% glare reduction for industry-leading optical clarity and protection against harmful UV exposure with 99% UV protection for the Tesla's completely redesigned leather interior.
"We've enjoyed partnering with Zero to 60 Designs over the past six months, and when Kenny said he had a special car in mind for our booth – we had no idea he would be designing this one-of-a-kind vehicle to stand above all other SEMA builds. The Zero TS truly embodies the Solar Gard brand and the vision of the company," said Kendall Combs, general manager, thin films for Solar Gard. "We believe in developing high-quality products, like our next-generation Clearshield Pro Hydro and LX series window film, and the Zero TS represents the pinnacle of unmatched performance. Protecting your automotive investment is our top priority at Solar Gard, so when we started the conversation about SEMA with Kenny, there was no question the vehicle we would showcase had to be an unbelievable product."
Solar Gard is also releasing two new items to help dealers and installers with the installation process from start to finish. With the newly updated Solar Gard On-The-Go app, dealers are able to monitor a project from start to finish with on–the-spot project estimates, film-to-glass calculations, simple bar code ordering and registering film warranties all through the app. The Solar Gard On-The-Go app is now available in the Apple Store and Google Play. In addition to the app, dealers will also have access to Solar Gard's new Slick & Stick Film Mounting Solution. Slip & Stick is a must-have solution specifically designed by window tinters for installation professionals and provides for clearer installs, will not degrade adhesive like shampoo or dish detergent, is effective on all pressure-sensitive adhesive window films and offers slip when needed, but also tacks on demand.
As a division of the international glass and building technology icon Saint-Gobain – an organization whose more-than-350-year legacy originated with the Hall of Mirrors in Paris' Palace of Versailles and extends to NASA's Mars Curiosity Rover – Solar Gard's automotive solutions are created through the expansive research and development capacity of the company. The brand's proprietary technology includes virtually invisible films that significantly reject heat from the sun, while diminishing the threat of UV damage. Combined with the best in customization options, Solar Gard's style and technology offerings are unmatched.
