Sogeti UK Retains G-Cloud Supplier Status and Adds New Services to the G5 Framework
LONDON, June 25, 2014 /PRNewswire/ --
Testing and Assurance specialist awarded a place as a supplier on the new G-Cloud 5 Framework, which enables rapid sourcing and deployment of secure, low cost services to the UK public sector
Sogeti UK, a leading provider of professional technology services, specialising in software testing, application and infrastructure management and high-tech engineering, is pleased to announce that following the fifth round of procurement applications Sogeti's specialist testing services will be available on the latest G5 procurement framework. This allows the UK Government continued access to procure a broad range of services provided by Sogeti, as part of the on-going G-Cloud initiative.
In addition to the core services that were available on the G-Cloud 4 framework, Sogeti has added Testing Platform as a Service (TPaaS) Advisory and Implementation Services, SOA Testing Services and Mobile Testing Services as well as broadening both its Agile Business Services and Test Training Services to include its full agile portfolio on this latest framework.
The G-Cloud initiative allows the public sector to buy cloud-based digital services off the shelf, avoiding lock-in to expensive contracts with single suppliers, and encouraging cost-effective, innovative solutions. However, according to BBC News, councils are still not taking full advantage of the services available on the G-Cloud. The Government Digital Strategy confirms the UK Government's use of digital public services still lags far behind that of the private sector (whilst 74% of people used the internet to purchase or renew car insurance in 2013, only 51% renewed car tax online). The same report highlights that by going digital by default, which was mandated in April 2014, the government could save between £1.7 and £1.8 billion each year through associated cost efficiencies and reductions achieved via citizen self-service.
Sogeti's range of G5 solutions aim to meet the increasingly digital needs of government clients by offering high quality development and testing of new web, cloud and mobile based applications that either successfully meet citizens' requirements, or that help Public Sector employees to work more effectively and efficiently.
Brian Shea, CEO of Sogeti UK, confirms: "We're absolutely thrilled to have been awarded supplier status for G5, having already seen strong interest in our Quality Assurance Services through the previous G-Cloud frameworks. We are delighted that our high quality development and testing services put us in a fantastic position to support public sector clients' key digital initiatives. New customers can find us easily on the CloudStore and we welcome their interest in our Mobile and SOA Testing Services as well as our complete range of Cloud and Agile Services that have been added to this latest release."
