The appointment of Shipley, an experienced CEO with technology, virtualization, and cloud expertise, signals a focus on accelerating the growth of Black Duck in existing and new markets.

Shipley replaces current Black Duck President and CEO Tim Yeaton, who will remain on the Black Duck Board of Directors.

Shipley, whose background in software leadership is extensive, most recently served as President and CEO of VM Turbo. Prior to VM Turbo, he was VP and GM of the Citrix DataCenter and Cloud Division. He also served as CEO and President of Reflectent Software, Inc., as Entrepreneur-in-Residence at Highland Capital Partners, and held executive roles at Avid and WebLine. Shipley is a Guest Lecturer at MIT Sloan School of Management. He holds a BS in economics from Trinity College and an MBA from the Harvard Business School.
