STONY BROOK, N.Y., Nov. 3, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Softheon, a national leader in cloud-based health insurance exchange distribution and services, announced today that it has been approved by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) as an approved Direct Enrollment Entity permitted to enroll subsidized consumers without leaving the enrollment site to get verification at HealthCare.gov.
Of the 18 web-based entities and carriers that have entered into a Proxy Direct Enrollment Agreement (the "DE Proxy Agreement") and are approved to use CMS' direct enrollment system, six are powered by Softheon. Any entity that doesn't follow the requirements, or that attempts to use the proxy system without approval, will be cut off from access to the federal site.
"Softheon is always striving to enhance the member experience. Through the DE Proxy Agreement, we are now able to offer members an even more seamless, efficient enrollment experience. We are honored to be part of the elite group approved to implement this process for the 2018 Open Enrollment Period," said Softheon Founder, CEO, & Chairman Eugene Sayan.
As an approved Direct Enrollment Entity, Softheon has developed a new qualified health plan (QHP) enrollment process, which allows members to enroll in coverage without leaving our platform. Members can also apply for advanced payment of premium tax credits (APTC) without the wait time associated with the traditional 'double redirect' for verification at HealthCare.gov.
Softheon is confident that the new process will bring a smoother, faster enrollment experience to members. The DEP pathway, first announced back in May, was unveiled for the 2018 open enrollment period.
