SOCMA Welcomes New Members in Second Half of 2014
WASHINGTON, Jan. 7, 2015 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Society of Chemical Manufacturers and Affiliates (SOCMA) welcomed eight new member companies at the end of 2014, all representing manufacturers, distributors and specialty chemical industry service providers looking to utilize the association's resources to stay abreast of key issues impacting the industry and grow their businesses. New members were approved by SOCMA's Board of Governors on December 8, 2014, during SOCMA's Annual Business Meeting in New York, NY.
"It gives me great pleasure to welcome eight new members to our association," said J. Steel Hutchinson, Chairman of SOCMA's Board of Governors and Owner and President of GFS Chemicals, a SOCMA member since 1998. "Being a member of SOCMA sends a message to one's employees, customers, vendors and community leaders that the member's business principles are of a higher order than simple financial performance. Membership in SOCMA reflects a commitment not only to the operational excellence standards of one's business, but also the health, sustainability and reputation of our industry."
"SOCMA's influence as the leading association for the specialty chemical industry is critical as the industry undergoes increasing international competition and evolving federal regulations," said Ed Price, President of PCI Synthesis. "We look forward to becoming actively involved and networking with peers and colleagues."
