Society of Wine Educators Publishes Ebook Version of Newly Revamped Study Guide
WASHINGTON, Jan. 21, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Shields Hood, General Manager of the Society of Wine Educators, announced that the Certified Specialist of Wine Study Guide is now available in a digital edition.
Jane Nickles, Director of Education for SWE and Editor of the new CSW Study Guide, said that they had "created this in response to a constant and growing demand for a digital version of the guide." It is currently available on both Amazon and iTunes, and is identical to the hard copy version. "This is a supplement, not a substitute, for the hard copy version, " explained Ms. Nickles. "It is extremely well priced at $19.99, and is an excellent companion to the print edition, since the ebook offers convenience, portability and cost effectiveness." The digital edition contains over 100 color photos and the most current wine region maps.
Mr. Hood added, "Going digital is the wave of the future, and the Society of Wine Educators is truly in the vanguard of wine education by making the Study Guide available in the digital market. This addition to the SWE study materials gives students the best of both worlds, offering them a digital version as well as the hard copy, and making it easy to study at anytime, anywhere."
In addition to the new version of the Study Guide, another invaluable resource that SWE provides is the Study Guide Update section of its blog (www.winewitandwisdomswe.com), a convenient and practical way for exam candidates and all industry professionals to keep abreast of the constant changes in the wine world.
This first ebook is part of SWE's initiative to continue the move to digital: by this summer, there will also be a digital version of the Certified Specialist of Spirits Study Guide. This format constitutes a major contribution to wine education, and is among the first, if not the only, wine education certification study guides available in digital form.
Certification forms the core of the Washington, DC-based Society of Wine Educators' mission, which is "to advance wine education through professional development and certification." The Society is widely acknowledged as providing a respected certification program which not only raises the standard of proficiency in the wine industry, but also serves as a valuable aid in furthering a professional career in the industry.
