Society of St. Vincent de Paul Recruiting Campers for Circle V Ranch Camp
Summer Camp in Santa Barbara County's Santa Ynez Valley Offers City Kids a Great Escape
LOS ANGELES, June 6, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- The Society of St. Vincent de Paul announced today that space remains available for summer camp weeks coming up at the Society's Circle V Ranch Camp in the Santa Ynez Valley. Located just a few hours from Los Angeles but a world away for inner city kids the Circle V Ranch is offering "themed camp weeks" in June, July and August.
On May 21 Circle V Ranch held an Open House and over 200 people attended to check out the facility, including a popular new miniature golf course donated by Randy and Elise Tripp of Santa Barbara.
Last year the camp served over 1,000 young campers age seven to 13 from throughout Southern California. This year's goal is 1200. There are "campership" grants available for kids who need financial assistance to attend.
"We are very pleased to offer a great experience for kids to come up to camp for week away from the city. There's no place like Circle V. Many of our kids come back year after year and some have gone on to become counselors or work at the camp after college. It's a great experience and parents should sign up as soon as possible," says David Fields, Executive Director of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul.
Nine one-week sessions will be held this year including:
Session 1: June 22-27 / Theme: Wild, Wild West Week
Session 2: June 27-July 2 / Theme: Pirate Week
Session 3: July 5-10 / Theme: Holiday Week
Session 4: July 10-15 / Theme: Knights of the Round table (Medieval Times)
Session 5: July 18-23 / Theme: Carnival Week
Session 6: July 23-28 / Theme: Hawaiian Vacation Week
Session 7: Aug 1-6 / Theme: Circle V's Got Talent Week
Session 8: Aug 6-11 / Theme: Disney Week
Session 9: Aug 12-17 / Theme: Safari Adventure Week

Scholarships and assistance for paying for the camp is available through the generosity of donors to the Society of St. Vincent de Paul.
