Societe Generale to Host 'Protecting the Tail: The Art of Hedging' Conference in New York City
NEW YORK, Sept. 30 /PRNewswire/ -- A hedge is generally considered a means of protection or defense against an unwelcome event. Having to spend money to buy this protection is often costly and in many cases inefficient. As new crises emerge and new strategies are developed to counter them, establishing the most effective hedge has become an art as much as it is a science.
On Wednesday, October 6, 2010 Societe Generale Corporate & Investment Banking will host a one-day conference entitled 'Protecting the Tail: The Art of Hedging' at the Crown Plaza Hotel in New York to discuss the catalysts, the tools, the assumptions, and the facts surrounding the "perfect hedge."
Sessions will include:
- INFLATION, DEFLATION, EVENT RISK and VALUATION - Dylan Grice - Global Strategist, Societe Generale Corporate & Investment Banking
- THE "ART OF HEDGING" - OVERVIEW OF COMMON HEDGES ACROSS ASSET CLASSES - Rebecca Cheong – Senior Equity Derivatives Strategist, Americas, Societe Generale Corporate & Investment Banking, and Steve Antczak – Head of US Credit Strategy, Societe Generale Corporate & Investment Banking
- LATEST INNOVATION ON HEDGING "THE TAIL" - Jason Hedberg – Head of Equity Derivatives Sales, Americas, Societe Generale Corporate & Investment Banking
There will be a one hour session prior to the general conference for those attendees unfamiliar with options and variance swaps.
The conference is open to institutional investors only.
