Lloyd joins Jessica Alba, John Jacobs and Gloria Steinem
PHILADELPHIA, Aug. 31, 2015 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- International soccer superstar and World Cup hero Carli Lloyd will join a show-stopping slate of keynote speakers for the Pennsylvania Conference for Women, organizers announced today. Lloyd will join actress and entrepreneur Jessica Alba, John Jacobs, co-founder of the Life is Good® brand, women's rights pioneer Gloria Steinem and Nobel Peace Prize winner Leymah Gbowee at the largest women's event in the tri-state area, to be held at Pennsylvania Convention Center in Philadelphia on November 19, 2015.
Alba and Jacobs will deliver keynote speeches and will also team up with Steinem for a conversation on impacting social change at the Conference, which will feature 150+ nationally recognized speakers. Poet and homeless activist Marquesha Babers will be a special guest speaker.
Lloyd is an American professional soccer player for the U.S. Women's National Soccer Team and the National Women's Soccer League's Houston Dash. She became an instant international hero and shattered scoring records leading the U.S. Women's World Cup team to victory. A two-time Olympic Gold Medalist, Lloyd led the 2015 World Cup team in bringing the Cup back to the U.S. for the first time since 1999.
