STOCKHOLM, Oct. 7, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Snow Software, the market-leading developer of hosted and on-premised Software Asset Management (SAM) solutions, today announced a collaboration with Red Hat, the world's leading provider of open source solutions, to bring Snow's SAM capabilities to organizations that use open source software.
As part of the collaboration, Snow's development and software recognition teams worked closely with Red Hat to help improve the recognition and management of Red Hat software and subscriptions, giving end-users the ability to manage Red Hat subscriptions in the same software license optimization solution used to manage other publishers and software. For Red Hat, collaboration with Snow offers greater confidence that customer licensing information is accurate.

The enhancements to the Linux software recognition are immediately available to Snow customers, thanks to Snow's dynamic delivery of software recognition updates to on-premise and hosted platforms. Further enhancements will be focused on bringing greater reporting capabilities to Red Hat subscriptions, due to be released as an update for Snow License Manager using the automatic update service.
