ARLINGTON, Va., March 3, 2017 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Snagajob, America's largest marketplace for hourly work, today announced updates to its board and executive leadership team. Labor market innovator Fabio Rosati, former Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Upwork, joins former CEO of OpenTable and other industry leaders on Snagajob's Board of Directors.
Snagajob also promoted former Chief Product and Marketing Officer, Jocelyn Mangan, to Chief Operating Officer (COO) where she will oversee product management, product design, product engineering and marketing. This unification will allow for faster and more efficient product innovation, updates and delivery.
"As we focus on blurring the line between snagging a job and snagging a shift, we increasingly become the platform for hourly work in the service industry," said Peter Harrison, CEO of Snagajob. "Having built the world's largest platform for 'skilled' hourly work over the last 15 years, I am thrilled to have Fabio's experience and perspective on our Board. Additionally, I'm excited for how Jocelyn's new role and team structure will allow us to execute on our ambitious vision and aggressive goals."
Fabio Rosati served as CEO of Elance from 2001 to 2014 and of Upwork from launch until 2015. During this time, the company became the world's largest gig economy platform for skilled work with 14 million users in 180 countries and more than $1B in annual billings. Prior to this, Rosati led the management consulting divisions of Capgemini in the U.S. He currently serves on the boards of several private companies, including Upwork and Imperative. His first hourly job was as a disc jockey.
"I am very excited to join Snagajob's Board of Directors and work with such a talented group of people," said Rosati. "This is a company whose economic and social impact is real: everyday the people of Snagajob work to improve how millions of job seekers find work and how hundreds of thousands of businesses find the talent they need to better serve their customers. As an established leader in this market, there is a giant opportunity for Snagajob to improve the experiences of the largest segment of the American workforce – hourly workers and employers."
Jocelyn Mangan has nearly two decades of experience building iconic global mobile apps and market-leading software products as the former head of product for OpenTable and TicketMaster. She was recently honored as a member of the 2016 Class of Henry Crown Fellows and the Aspen Global Leadership Network at the Aspen Institute and has been named to Fast Company's 2015 list of "100 Most Creative People in Business" and to Business Insider's 2014 list of the "32 Most Powerful Women in Mobile Advertising." Based in the company's Oakland office, Mangan also leads the company's West Coast expansion. Her first hourly job was as a restaurant hostess.
"I am thrilled to take on this larger role of Chief Operating Officer," said Mangan. "When you have the people who are creating, managing, designing and marketing products all on the same team working toward the same goals, the decision-making process is streamlined and the path to turning a vision into a reality is accelerated. I'm honored to lead this great team and offer even more to our customers and users."
Working with over 75 million current members and over half a million active hiring managers, Snagajob is the nation's leading marketplace connecting hourly workers with hourly employers. The company has rapidly expanded and in 2016 alone secured $100 million in funding, acquired talent management software provider PeopleMatter and announced a strategic partnership with LinkedIn to develop joint research on the hourly workforce.
