Iowa Premium beef is grown and processed responsibly and sustainably. The cattle come from family farm-feeders within a target 150-mile radius of the Tama facility. The goal is to procure cattle as close to our plant as possible, as a short haul reduces the amount of stress on cattle. Averaging 350 head, Iowa feed yards are smaller than operations in other cattle feeding states. The smaller size allows for more individual attention.
