AMSTERDAM, Sept. 13, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- SMiT, the global-leading operation platform provider for secure distribution of paid content, presents the CI Plus v1.4 demo at IBC 2014.
The CI Plus v1.4 CAM demo includes new features such as the ability to route high-bandwidth IP streams through the CAM and the ability to control those IP streams. Other new features include extended CI Plus browser, the handling of multiple encrypted streams (multi stream), the new "Online Service Descriptor Table" (OSDT), and support for IP multicast. These new features enable the delivery of IPTV straight to television sets without the need for a set-top box.
Previous versions of the CI specifications do not include the facility to route IP-delivered content over the TS Interface. CI Plus v1.4 extends the routing and decryption of protected content delivered over IP to a network interface. This enables service providers and network operators to provide a single CAM that can receive and decrypt both broadcast and IP-delivered content offerings with a single CAM.
SMiT's first CI Plus v1.4 CAM products will be ready in Q4 2015.
