Smartling Names Kevin Cohn Vice President of Operations
Software veteran tasked with driving organizational efficiency and scalability
NEW YORK, June 2, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Smartling today announced Kevin Cohn as the company's vice president (VP) of operations. In this role, Cohn will be responsible for driving organizational efficiency and scalability, as Smartling continues its rapid growth in the corporate and enterprise segments.
A seasoned software executive with an extensive technical background, Cohn joined Smartling in 2014 as the senior director of product marketing. As a result of his keen ability to integrate and align vital functions within the company, Cohn was swiftly promoted to VP of operations.
"Kevin has a unique ability to connect disparate departments, motivate employees to work toward common goals and leverage products to maximize value to both the business and our customers," said Jack Welde, Smartling's co-founder and CEO. "These qualities, in addition to his software expertise and business savvy, make him the ideal executive to expand global operations and bring our cloud-based translation management platform to customers around the world."
Prior to joining Smartling, Cohn spent more than seven years with Atypon, a Web and mobile content delivery and monetization platform provider. Joining the company as the product development manager in 2006, Cohn quickly scaled the managerial ranks and was appointed chief operating officer in 2012. While with Atypon, Cohn was tasked with operating and growing the business; maintaining customer relationships; negotiating deal terms and contracts; and managing sales, marketing, professional services and customer support staff across five offices and four countries.
