"We are extremely pleased that our fleet management solutions can now be quickly and easily purchased by our existing and future customers at the federal, state, local, and municipal levels of government," said Greg Drew, CEO of SmartDrive Systems. "As an authorized GSA contractor we can now offer faster acquisition times, lower administrative costs, and preferred pricing."
SmartDrive uses state-of-the-art technology to make it easy for fleet, safety, and risk managers to increase visibility and effectively manage driver safety and productivity. When triggered by speeding, shock, erratic maneuvers, or driver activation, the SmartRecorder saves audio, video, speed, location, vehicle data, and more. This information is then automatically uploaded and reviewed by SmartDrive and presented to customers so they can respond quickly and confidently. In a glance, a fleet manager can:
- Access 30-second audio and video clips of a driver and the road, before and after a triggered incident.
- Identify dangerous driving habits such as speeding, distracted driving (texting, cell phone use, etc.), seatbelt compliance, and use those videos to coach drivers
- Reduce fuel consumption and emissions by tracking speeding, excessive idle time, and off-hours/ off-route activities
Fleets utilizing SmartDrive have been able to reduce collision frequency by an average of 50% within the first year. The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Association (FMCSA) recently concluded a study of this technology and found a 76% reduction in severe unsafe driving acts by drivers who were subsequently coached.
