Smartcool Succeeds in the Sunshine State with 2,000 Unit Order
VANCOUVER, Oct. 13 /PRNewswire/ - Smartcool's two premier independent regional partners, Smartcool Southeast and Global Energy Services, have placed a new blanket purchase order for 2,000 ECO3™ units in order to meet the increasing demand from businesses, non-profit organizations and homeowners within the Florida and Southeast markets for this innovative energy efficiency product. The ECO3™ is a very economical green retrofit technology that reduces the electricity consumption (kWh) and demand (KW) of the compressors in air conditioning, refrigeration, and heat pump systems.
To date in 2010, Smartcool Southeast and Global Energy Services have installed upwards of 700 ECO3™ units in the residential, hospitality, restaurant, commercial and retail sectors across the state. The Sunshine State has traditionally been a successful market for Smartcool Systems Inc. (TSX-V: SSC), including Energy Saving Module (ESM)™ installations with major customers such as Hellmann's Perishable Logistics and U.S. Navy Exchange locations. Smartcool is very excited to see Smartcool Southeast and Global Energy Services build upon these past successes.
Bruce Kemp, President of Smartcool Southeast, has found the ECO3™ to be such a powerful product that he reorganized his energy division around Smartcool's technology as a new venture. "Air conditioning and refrigeration consume the lion's share of energy in the Southeast. As an HVAC contractor and energy efficiency solutions provider, we are always looking for ways to help our customers get the most out of their air conditioning and refrigeration systems. With the ECO3™, we are able to provide our customers with the same quality of climate control, while saving them money and ultimately greenhouse gas emissions."
Phil and Barb Plastic, Managing Partners of Global Energy Services, have found the ECO3™ to be an excellent product for their customers concerned with lowering their operating costs and greenhouse gas emissions. "In addition to providing our large base of commercial customers with superb energy efficiency gains, the ECO3™ is the cornerstone of our new Non-Profit Partnership Program. This program allows Non-Profit Organizations to start reducing their operating costs right away with improved energy efficiency, while paying over time with money they are actually saving."
"This latest order from Smartcool Southeast and Global Energy Services is yet another indicator of the strong potential for growth within this market," says Chris Lefaivre, VP of Business Development at Smartcool Systems. "Florida's climate and pro-active utility companies have made greater energy efficiency in air conditioning and refrigeration systems a priority for many businesses and residents. Working with Smartcool Southeast and Global Energy Services will help us meet the growing demand for the ECO3™ in Florida, and provides us with state wide coverage and increased revenue in a key market for our products."
