Smart Contracts Pioneer Symbiont Fortifies Board of Directors
Appoints Former SEC Commissioner Gallagher and Former T.Rowe Price President Ruppert
NEW YORK, Nov. 14, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Symbiont has appointed former SEC Commissioner Daniel Gallagher and Todd Ruppert, former CEO and President of T.Rowe Price Global Investment Services, to its Board of Directors. These appointments contribute a blend of capital markets management and regulatory expertise to the start-up's expanding cabinet of industry veterans.
"Dan and Todd bring elements to Symbiont's DNA that will be critical to our mission of making capital markets safer, fairer and more efficient," said Mark Smith, CEO and co-founder of Symbiont. "We continue to show that our technology is unrivaled, and adding invaluable expertise to our leadership ensures we maintain our first-mover advantage."
Gallagher served as Commissioner of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission for four years before being appointed as President of Patomak Global Partners, a Washington-based regulatory consulting firm established in the wake of the financial crisis.
Ruppert brings over three decades of experience in financial services to the smart contracts pioneer, most notably as CEO of T.Rowe Price Global Investment Services, co-president of T.Rowe Price international, and a member of the operating steering committee of the T.Rowe Price group. After spending 27 years at the firm, he left in 2012 to form Ruppert International, a global holding company with interests in disruptive technologies and financial services.
Symbiont's board of directors now comprises former New York Stock Exchange CEO Duncan Niederauer, SenaHill Managing Partner Neil DeSena, and Celeridum Capital Management founder Shiv Govindan, in addition to Symbiont CEO and co-founder Mark Smith, and President Caitlin Long, who is also chairman of the board.
